Has anybody found the sex trade issues in Frankfurt to spoil their holiday? Going for Christmas Market and concerned its reputation-will it dirty our couply trip. Firstly, if you stay outside of the station area, then its like any other city, and up by the Opera is really nice and civilised.
And even if you do stay by the station where theres a few strip clubs that might offer a little more, how can something that may or may not be happening behind closed doors cause a problem. Your only problem will be the flashing lights should you be an epileptic.
Sex trade issues? Christmas market? What are you talking about? You obviously don't see its a problem. I've heard lots of negative stories regarding Frankfurt being Europes biggest hub for brothels and dodgy at night. Womens touting for business would take away the Christmas magic I'm sure you agree!! Anyways whatevs we want to check out the market so we'll go and avoid the red lights unless shining outta Santas butt. I live Close to Frankfurt , work in the City and have never encountered any sex trade in daily life.
It's only the area closed to the main Train Station, it's easy to avoid. You won't see any prostitutes waiting for customers at the Christmas market or anywhere else. At worst, there'd be some chick on the door saying hi to any single men going by. But as a couple you havent a hope of being hassled or approcached. With the lads you are stopped regularily and they wont take no for an answer.
With the mrs, you couldnt find an agent or strip club if youre looking. I'm a single guy who travels alone so when walking though "those" areas I probably look like I'm there for a reason that isn't to find an icecream cone so would probably be seen as a potential customer. Unless you're the type that gets offended by a bra add in a clothing catalogue I definitely wouldn't worry about Frankfurt. My hotel in Frankfurt was in an area with a lot of strip joints and some hookers and the worst that happened was I needed to say no more than once to a few of them.
