This is a good destination near Kupang City, the "Gua Kristal" named after its crystal clear water As with the beach and the waterfall, this place needs a clean-up. Overall not worth a visit except it was 'different' and the water was interesting for a swim. Truly amazing cave pool with 'crystal' clear brackish water. Makes for a unique swimming experience. The access is a bit steep and can be slippery but most people would be able to make it down to the water if they are careful - alternatively there is a viewing platform up above where you can look down and see the water and people swimming and try not to die of jealousy!!
Definitely a place to visit during the day when the sun fills up the cave and shines through the water. Also - you can apparently dive in the cave with Donovan from the local 'Dive Kupang Dive'.
Crystal caves is great. One of the only places in West Timor that you can swim at without having to worry about crocodiles. Arriving at crystal caves is weird as there is no signs and just a thin dirt road which leads you to the entrance of the cave. To get down to where the water is, it is quite difficult as there is no light and very steep. Once at the bottom of the cave there is a large swimming area with rock jumping platforms also.
I read review from other travelers, so we went there. He really friendly. Amazing place, if I came with Bolang the adventure kid for sure I would love swimming there. Water blue with clean water. Will be great if government look after access there.
Beautiful hidden cave with crystal clear water, close to the city of Kupang but if you go by your own it would be a bit difficult to find as there is clear direction. When we visited, there was nobody but no but us.
